JCA Ltd are pleased to introduce two new members of staff to the John Coward Architects Team.
Stephen Leighton has joined us as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant after graduating from the University of Central Lancashire.
Architecture students typically undertake a 3 year undergraduate degree followed by a year out, also known as a year in practice or year in industry and then return to university for a further two years to undertake a Masters degree (or Masters in Architecture).
Stephen is gaining experience of life in practice to give context to ongoing study. In his spare time, Stephen enjoys chess and fair-weather camping, often at the same time.
Isabella Robinson has joined us as a Part 2 Architectural Assistant, after graduating from the University of Manchester. Isabella is now accumulating in-practice experience and considering the final part of formal architectural education, known as ‘Part 3’.
Following the aforementioned undergraduate degree (Part 1), Masters degree (Part 2) and in-practice experience, Part 3 is an architect’s professional qualification, focussed on the legal and contractual aspects of the job and practice management.
Outside of the office Isabella enjoys drawing and cooking and is now enjoying living in the National Park.
Both Stephen and Isabella are getting stuck in to a wide variety of the JCA projects, working from concept design through to detailed technical design. They have also, nobly, taken on the mantle of answering the phones and are quick to beat the rest of us to it. If you call the office, it’s likely you’ll get Stephen or Isabella in the first instance.
